Troop 11 Annual Dues
Our charter expires every January and to renew we must pay all membership fees. Due to price increases from National we need to raise our dues from $125 to $150 for each Scout. $60 from the dues goes to directly to the BSA, $48 for registration and $12 for the annual subscription to Boys Life. Adult leaders are charged a $36 registration fee by National, an increase from $33. The cost for new Scouts to join the Troop is prorated at $12.50 / month for the number of months remaining in the Scouting year.
These dues cover the normal operating costs for the Troop such as: patches, merit badges, rank badges, advancement cards, troop equipment maintenance and repairs, and any other materials the Scouts may need during the course of the year in order to put on a quality scouting program for the boys.
Money the Troop earns from fundraisers goes towards the costs of materials used for campouts and for purchasing camping gear for the Troop. Funds are also used for upkeep of the Troop trailer, it's license and insurance fees, propane, charcoal, camping gear repair parts & banking fees. It also covers the costs of certificates, awards, handbooks, training materials, merit badge books, merit badges, patrol patches, position of leadership responsibility patches, rank advancement patches, ceremony candles, etc....
The cost of campouts will change according to the activities involved and the location. Scouts and will be advised of the costs prior to each activity by their Patrol Leader. Normal camp outs are usually between $10.00 - $15.00 per person to cover food costs. Special campouts or activities may have additional fees that are slightly higher. Council Camporees and Klondike Derby's require an additional fee (typically about $15.00) that goes directly to the Council.
